Dorine Reed George (Eastern Band Cherokee), a member of the Long Hair Clan, is an accomplished potter. Daughter of fellow potter, Lucy Dean Reed, George carries on the family legacy of crafting exemplary works of traditional Cherokee craftsmanship. Her father fired pottery for the Oconaluftee Indian Village for over forty years. George hand builds, paddle stamps, and pit fires her clay work using centuries-old techniques.
She currently lives in the Painttown Community of Cherokee, NC.
