Erica Cheater (Cherokee Nation), originally from Park Hill, Oklahoma, has a Bachelors of Business Administration in Information Systems. Working as a self-taught artist under the name, Misselaineous, Cheater has four years of experience in the mediums of contemporary beadwork, two-needle flatwork, peyote stitch, and loom work. Her designs are influenced by her Cherokee cultural traditions and patterns and the aesthetics of the natural world. However, they are also infused with a modern, pop culture flair. This merging of inspirations results in a vibrant collection of cultural tradition with a contemporary aesthetic. Cheater currently resides in Tulsa, Oklahoma with her husband, Colby Luper.
