Keith “Keef” Martinez, Jr. (Eastern Band Cherokee and Diné), a member of the Bird Clan, works with a variety of creative media including: pencil, pen, colored pencil, acrylic paint, charcoal, and oil paint to create his original designs. His works have been adapted for prints, postcards, t-shirts, and notecards. Keef began studying these artforms when he was just thirteen years old. Though primarily a self-taught artist, his father Keith “Kee” Martinez, Sr. (Eastern Diné) was also an accomplished artist and influential in his skill development. Keef creates heartfelt works, each with its own inspired story. His designs reflect both his Eastern Band Cherokee and Eastern Diné cultural backgrounds as well as environmental and spiritual influences. Keef has won several awards in the Kananesgi Art Show for his work.
