ᎤᏔᎾ Madison Hye Long (Eastern Band Cherokee), renowned for her photography inspired by landscape artists and historical painters, began her artistic journey as a child. With a disposable camera in hand, Long quickly grew a passion for capturing images of authentic Native identity devoid of stereotypes and misconceptions. She garnered national attention as a contributor to the 400 Years Project: a digital photography platform focused on the history and future of Native American identity. More recently, Long has added beadwork, sewing, and multi-media arts to her skillset. Her designs continue to engage with contemporary Cherokee representation while exploring the vast inspiration of her home’s natural landscapes.
Long currently resides in the Painttown Community of Cherokee, NC.
